I took some of these photos in December of 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic when I took a trip to Joshua Tree to clear my mind. It was there where I stumbled upon this one-of-a-kind amphitheater surrounded by these Greek like rock formations and immediately began to realize the opportunity of what could potentially be done here such as an amazing music performance,listening experience, short film, performance art piece, or live filmed play. Back in 2016 Grammy Award winning artist Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino hosted what he called an immersive communal concert experience entitled PHAROS. In the images down below, you can see Gambino and his production team constructed a white dome in the outskirts of Joshua Tree where a diverse group of fans could experience his newest unreleased album together for the first time in an intimate/primal setting. My goal is to create something like Childish Gambino’s PHAROS at a much more affordable and smaller scale allowing for a truly intimate and immersive setting for individuals to experience artist performances collectively. The Concept: Collaborate with a company and or artist for either an immersive concert/listening experience complete with projector screens, state of the art lighting, and food vendors to showcase live music performances with video visuals followed by a theater play that is filmed like a movie and played on those exact screens. Mentor and frequent collaborator of mine Shia LaBeouf has agreed to perform and be a part of that immersive theater play should all other components come together.
