Located in a vacant parking lot at the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Avalon Boulevard in South Central L.A., 5711 Avalon was a groundbreaking live-recorded outdoor theater experience born in the height of the COVID era. Designed as a drive-in performance, audiences remained in their vehicles while strategically placed GoPros and projection screens captured unfolding scenes, broadcast via a dedicated radio station. This immersive format created a "bird-on-the-wire" perspective, compelling viewers to actively choose where to focus turning their cars into participatory vantage points.
